Hyperlinking text and accessibility

Avoid using directional or vision-based instructions, such as, click here or see below in digital content. Hyperlinking phrases like these can unintentionally exclude users who rely on screen readers or who do not interact with content visually. 

Use descriptive and inclusive alternatives such as:

  • Explore our programs
  • Find details on [topic]
  • Learn more about [topic]
  • Visit the Admissions website

Additional tip: Don't hyperlink punctuation (e.g., a period) if the linked text is at the end of a sentence.
