University name
Use the university's brand name Ontario Tech University in the first reference followed by Ontario Tech in subsequent references. Do not use an abbreviation or an acronym when referring to the university.
The spaces are removed from Ontario Tech only when used as a graphic treatment.
The legal name of the university (University of Ontario Institute of Technology) is used only for degrees, diplomas and legal documents.
Avoid repeating the university name
Avoid repeating Ontario Tech when the context is already clear (e.g., on the university website, faculty pages or any internal platforms). Overusing the name can make writing feel overly formal.
