Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Digital signage templates

You can create your own digital signage images for upload to our signage software using our templates in Brandfolder. Follow the steps below to create your digital sign in Brandfolder. The image will be submitted to Communications and Marketing for approval. Once approved, you'll receive a notification email where you can download the final image file. Submit this image file along with your Project Initiation request.



How to

Create a digital sign using a Brandfolder template

  1. Login to Brandfolder.
  2. Search for "digital signage" in the search box at the top of the assets list. (Tip: You can include the quotation marks around the search term to find exact matches for it.)
  3. Select Templates from the Sections quick link buttons above the search box to narrow down the results.
  4. Select the template you wish to use. A new browser tab will open with the template editor. The fields that you can change will be on the left and a preview of the sign will be on the right.
  5. Make your text changes in the form fields, being sure to follow any Editorial Style guidelines for things like addresses, dates and times.
  6. Change the default image by choosing an image from Brandfolder (Select from Brandfolder) or upload a new image (Click to browse).
    1. Select from Brandfolder
      1. All of the assets in Brandfolder will appear in the selection box. You can enter a search term in the search box to filter the results, such as "Polonsky Commons"
      2. Select the image you want to use, then select the Crop button. This will allow you to adjust the portion of the image that will be shown, based on the available space for the template image.
      3. Move the crop preview box around on the image as necessary. You can also resize it by dragging one of the edges or corners of the crop preview box.
      4. Select Use Image once you're satisfied with the crop.

    2. Upload a new image
      1. Drag and drop an image from your computer in into the file upload box, or you can click Select Files to Upload.
      2. The crop preview box will appear. This will allow you to adjust the portion of the image that will be shown, based on the available space for the template image.
      3. Move the crop preview box around on the image as necessary. You can also resize it by dragging one of the edges or corners of the crop preview box. Select Save once you're satisfied with the crop.
      4. A final preview of the image that will be uploaded will be shown. Select Upload.
  7. To see your changes in the preview, select the Refresh Preview button in the top right corner.
  8. Once you're satisfied with your changes, select the Finish button in the top right corner. Then select Request Approval. Your digital sign will be sent for review by Communications and Marketing. Once approved, you'll receive an email notification with a link to download the file.
