When presenting your remarks at an event, include the following:

"This (past) September is (was) a major milestone for our university, as we mark (marked) 20 years since opening our doors to our first incoming class. Throughout the year, we look forward to numerous events and initiatives that will showcase the university’s past, present and future, as we celebrate with students, faculty, staff, alumni, partners, donors, the community and beyond."
